The most important thing to me is my faith in God the father, His Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Second is my family and friends.
For me, a relationship with God has made life worth living, full to the max and overflowing. Do you know Him?
If not, I encourage you to read the best-selling book about God, the Bible. There are many versions out there: King James Version (KJV), New King James Version (NKJV), New International Version (NIV), New Living Translation (NLT), and The Message, to name a few.
Read the Bible and you’ll discover a God who is good, merciful, and just. The books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and the early chapter of Acts contain stories of Jesus and how He lived, died, was resurrected from the dead, and ascended to Heaven where He lives at the right hand of Father. The Holy Spirit has been given to us to help and comfort, to minister in numerous ways.
After careful reading, you may be ready to accept God into your life. The book of Romans, chapter 10, verses 9-10 tells us that :
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.”
Pray a simple prayer, which is simply talking to God, and ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and a life spent apart from Him. Ask Him to come live inside your heart, your innermost self. Talk to Him as you would a friend.
Congratulations! You are now a part of the family of God. Can I pray for you?
Father God, I lift up my new friend today as they start their new journey in your family. Be with them as they learn about you and grow close to you. Send people to bless them and encourage them along this life. Jesus, you pray for us always and I ask that you show yourself strong in my friend’s life. Holy Spirit, comfort and lead them as they walk the narrow path which leads to Heaven. I thank you and rejoice with the angels in Heaven as another name has been added to the book of life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
I encourage you to read your Bible and pray often. Find a good church to teach and encourage you and be baptized as Jesus was.
You, too, now know about the most important thing…
